Women’s training and empowerment project-Sa’ada Governorate

In order to achieve the goal of Al-Ekram Foundation in raising women’s awareness and rehabilitating them in the handcraft, industrial, and agricultural fields to be able to be self-sufficient and face the hardships of life, Al-Ekram Foundation implemented the second phase of the Tamkeen project in partnership with Yemen Mobile Company, by holding training courses for the incense, perfumes, and soap manufacturing for 17 women. The participants were selected according to the field survey and the initial needs assessment carried out by the head of the women’s sector and the professional and volunteer staff of the Foundation. Women and girls were selected from the most vulnerable families in Sahar district, Sa’ad Governorate. The project was conducted on February 2018 by targeting 35 women and girls with raw materials for perfumes, incense, and soap manufacturing. As well as food baskets were distributed to each trainee to motivate them and support the economic aspect of their families
